CJC-1295 is a man-made peptide, which is a tiny chain of building blocks called amino acids. It is made to tell the body to let out more growth hormone. Growth hormone is a natural body chemical that helps with muscle, energy, and repair. It is not an approved medicine.

It is mostly sold as a powder for lab research, and some clinics and wellness centers have used it for anti-aging and fitness goals. In the body, CJC-1295 works like a natural signal that nudges the pituitary gland, a small gland in the brain, to release growth hormone in steady pulses. It lasts a long time in the body, so it can keep the pulses going. People hope this may help with muscle, fat loss, sleep, and recovery.

But it does this indirectly — it asks the body to make more of its own hormone instead of giving the hormone directly. Much of what we know comes from early human studies and lab work, not large careful trials. Long-term safety is not well known, and side effects like water retention, numbness, and tiredness have been reported. In the United States, regulators moved CJC-1295 to a restricted list for compounding in 2023, so it is not legal to sell for human use. Anyone thinking about it should talk to a real doctor first.

mg vs mcg: one milligram (mg) equals 1,000 micrograms (mcg) — multiply by 1,000 going from mg to mcg, divide by 1,000 going from mcg to mg. Mixing the two up is a thousand-fold dosing error: 1 mg taken instead of 1 mcg is a 1,000× overdose; 1 mcg instead of 1 mg is a 1,000× underdose. Mechanism of Action

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analog of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). The Drug Affinity Complex (DAC) binds serum albumin, extending half-life to roughly a week and producing sustained, dose-dependent increases in GH (2-10x) and IGF-1 lasting days to weeks. It is not FDA-approved.
