The UK's MHRA has approved Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide 25 mg tablets) as the first daily GLP-1 weight-loss pill for obesity and overweight in adults, based on the OASIS 4 phase 3 trial. The once-daily tablet offers an alternative to weekly injections alongside diet and exercise. Semaglutide 25 mg achieved roughly 14% weight loss versus 2% with placebo after 64 weeks. Novo Nordisk expects availability via private prescription within weeks.
