The FDA has approved an oral once-daily 25 mg semaglutide formulation, the Wegovy pill, as the first oral GLP-1 receptor agonist for weight management. It showed ~16.6% mean weight loss in the OASIS 4 trial, comparable to injectable Wegovy 2.4 mg. Novo Nordisk plans a US launch in early January 2026.
