A large study published in Annals of Oncology analyzed health data from over 229,000 obese, non-diabetic people and found an association between GLP-1 receptor agonist use and reduced risk of obesity-related cancers, including pancreatic and colorectal cancers. The research adds to growing interest in GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and Mounjaro beyond diabetes and weight loss. Experts note that with hundreds of millions of people expected to take these drugs, even modest risk reductions could have major public health implications.
