The FDA has approved Wegovy (semaglutide) for treating metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) in adults with moderate-to-advanced liver fibrosis. The approval was granted under the accelerated approval pathway based on surrogate endpoints from a phase 3 trial, with confirmatory data still required.
