Fierce Pharma reports that Takeda is ending all manufacturing of Natpara for hypoparathyroidism in the US and abroad by the end of 2024 and will not return the drug to the US market, after a 2019 recall for rubber particulate fears and a Complete Response Letter from FDA. The story notes roughly 2,800 patients relied on Natpara before the recall and that the drug earned $230 million in 2018, its last full reported US sales year. Takeda said it cannot implement a solution to the rubber particle formation issue.
