A real-world, propensity-matched study presented at the American Headache Society meeting found that GLP-1 receptor agonist initiation in patients with migraine and obesity did not significantly improve headache outcomes despite weight loss. However, GLP-1 users showed less health care utilization and less treatment escalation than those on topiramate. Researchers emphasized the findings are hypothesis-generating rather than proof of efficacy.
