A study published in Scientific Reports found that exposure to bright light in the early evening can reduce the sleep-disrupting effects of light exposure later at night. Researchers observed that while late-evening light typically suppresses melatonin and alertness, these negative physiological impacts were mitigated when participants were exposed to bright light earlier in the evening.
