This meta-analysis pools 14 randomized controlled trials (N = 2,884) of Cerebrolysin after acute ischemic stroke. Cerebrolysin significantly improved early neurological recovery (NIHSS change mean difference +1.39, p = 0.020); functional independence (mRS 0-2) showed a non-significant trend favoring the drug. Safety outcomes were reassuring, with hemorrhagic transformation significantly reduced (RR 0.55).
